I updated the congressional directory for various staffing and contact information updates to members of Congress as noted by Congress Merge. Most notably, yet another member of Congress, Representative Dennis Cordoza (D-CA) of the 18th district in California, who was set to leave office in January, has resigned early. Politico has the most honest appraisal of the situation that I saw… he had a better job offer. Luckily there will be no need for a special election in this case as the November election will fill the seat. Rep. Cordoza’s various Congressional offices will remain open, supervised by the Clerk of the House.
I updated the congressional directory for a few recent contact changes as well as noting the surprise resignation of Representative Geoff Davis (R-KY) of the 4th District of Kentucky which became effective close of business Tuesday, July 31, 2012 (news story here). As noted by Jennifer Manning of the Library of Congress: “His Congressional offices will remain open under the supervision of the Clerk of the House. The Governor of Kentucky has not yet scheduled a special election to fill the seat. The seat is likely to remain open until the November election.”
