Well, it has been a very busy end of the semester, but with classes over, I was able to spend a little time getting the Contacting the Congress directory back up to date and in sync with the latest directory from Congress Merge.
Yearly Archives: 2012
Update Notes for April 17, 2012
Re-synchronized the congressional contact information to match the current Congress Merge database.
Update Notes for April 6, 2012
Site update to bring this site back in sync with the CongressMerge database. Thanks to Mr. Washburn for pointing out my email contact information for Representative Kay Granger (R – TX) was out of date.
Update Notes for March 21, 2012
In addition to updating the data on various House and Senate members and their staffing, also note the resignation (yesterday) of Representative Jay Inslee (D-WA) who is running for Governor of Washington instead of finishing the job he was elected to.
Update Notes for March 6, 2012
I have been very busy at work so I haven’t maintained the data as well as I usually do. Everything is now up-to-date. This update was motivated in part to note the passing of Representative Donald Payne (D-NJ) (news story). Representative Payne’s offices will remain open under the supervision of the Clerk of the House as is typical in these situations. A special election to fill the seat hasn’t been scheduled yet.
Update Notes for February 8, 2012
In addition to the various updates to contact information for members of Congress and updated the ZIP code to Congressional District mapping data. I also add the newly elected Representative Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR), who was elected to fill the seat vacated by David Wu amid a sex scandal involving “aggressive and unwanted sexual behavior” with a young woman (reference)… in other words, being a likely rapist.
Update Notes for January 25, 2012
Quite a few minor updates to staffing, district office, and web site information for members of the House and Senate. We will also be noting (later today) the resignation of Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D – 08). The Clerk of the House will take over management of her office until a special primary is held in Arizona to elect someone to finish out Rep. Giffords term in office.
Update Notes for January 10, 2012
This is the first update for the 2nd Session of the 112th Congress. The only updates were small changes to the district office address information for some members of Congress.
